  • Mid to Late 9th Century

    Arrival of Pelasgians

    The Mediterranean region is plagued by repeated battles between the waning Byzantine Empire and the rising Arabs. To evade the conflict, several Pelasgian tribes had migrate away from their homeland and find refuge in the seemingly uninhabited continent of Nyvarda.

  • 9th to 11th Century

    The Crusades

    Over the next two centuries, the conflict escalates, leading to the First Crusade in 1095. Europe steadily descends into the Dark Ages, as society and commerce stagnate, and violence and oppression rise to unprecedented levels. This coincides with another wave of mass migrations from Europe.

  • Early 12th Century

    Arrival of Aryans

    Several Aryan clans, originating largely from Norman England and the Holy Roman Empire, also known as Heiliges Römisches Reich, settle in NyvardaThis leads to decades of clashes among the Aryans, and with the Pelasgians.

  • 1140AD

    Formation of Heiligesia

    The Aryans unit under the leadership of Emmanuel I, who is crowned the King of Heiligesia. Within a decade, Heiligesian forces had capture almost the entire continent.

  • 1151AD

    Extermination of the Natives

    Diplomatic relations with the Pelasgians, erroneously referred to as the Natives are short-lived, and negotiation break down.

    King Emmanuel I responds with the infamous Extermination of Natives Decree.

  • 1162AD

    Secession of Arrkaya

    Following the great animosity within the Aryans, Lord Edward Gyldene I of Solvahal, with the support of the neighbouring provinces, successfully secedes from Heiligesia, forming Arrkaya.

  • 1162-1205AD

     

    First Arrkaya-Heiligesia War

    The conflict soon escalates into the first Arrkaya-Heiligesia War, which lasts for over four decades.

  • 1205AD

    Formation of Arzi

    The deadlock is finally broken when the Natives ally with Arrkaya, leading to their victory.

    In return, the Natives are granted sovereignty over the western-most territories of Arrkaya, and Arzi is thus formed.

  • 1270AD

    Fall of Heiligesia, Rise of Arrkaya

    Heiligesia, crippled by the protracted war and a corrupt ruling class, continues to lose power in the area while Arrkaya, following their accession of prominent ports to the east, continues to grow wealthy and prosperous.

  • 1272AD

    Treaty of Dulce Lago

    As a consequence of Arrkaya's resounding victories in the Battle of Oldenburg, circa 1262AD and later in the Battle of Bleda, circa 1270AD, the war and bloodshed finally end with the Treaty of Dulce Lago being signed between King Edward Gyldene II of Arrkaya and Queen Ammelina of Heiligesia.

    Present Day

    The continent of Nyvarda enters an age of unprecedented peace and prosperity, resting upon the precarious balance of power between the three realms.
